it was such a better workout but crap we have a long way to go. it's been a while since any of us have egg beatered like that and frankly I felt super inadequate.
in general the workout was unplanned but went something like this:
egg beater 100m. 25 front, back, side, side.
this was embarrassing... I thought I would pick up right where I left off... 12 years ago.... so it's been a while since I treaded water this much and even using the superior technique of egg beatering but HOT DANG
bobbed for a little bit. very easy. did some of the bobbing with flips and hands behind back. tougher... water absolutely goes into your brain via your nose and it sucks. it's just one of those uncomfortable things you gotta get used to I guess.
did about 15 minutes of buddy breathing in one minute incraments. holy crap. inhaling water is not as much fun as it sounds like. inhaling a little bit isn't a big deal and seemingly unavoidable. the tough part is when you inhale too much, cough, get passed the snorkel, then have no air left to clear the snorkel and then proceed to drown...
then we treaded water some more... elbows out of the water.
last we did a really crappy version of "10 ups".
10 pushup on the deck. jump in and swim under water 25 meters (along the bottom of course). well.. we did 4 or 5 of them in about 8.5 foot deep water and we didn't complete a single one...
like I said. rude awakening but glad we finally were able to get in the pool and get a real workout in.
after that we went and did a quick Clas session. just the pas test pull ups situps and pushups. this has become very easy.
